Romantic Festival

Our branch’s Romantic Festival went very well this past Saturday, April 20th at St. Bartholomew’s Episcopal Church. Thank you Valery Kravchenko for chairing the event and Pam Gall Revitte for helping all day and getting lunch for the judges. We had 63 students and had both pianists and vocalists. Our judges, Steve Baker and Dan Yu, did a wonderful job.

Registration opens: March 16, 2024 
Registration closes: April 14, 2024
 
Fee: $35 per participant (includes processing fees).  The teacher registers and pays online at NSDMTAC.com.

FESTIVAL RULES AND GUIDELINES

  1. Consent Form: If the parent has not already filled out the Student Consent Form for the 2023/2024 school year, please fill out this form and email it to nsdmtac@gmail.com no later than April 19, 2024.
  2. This Festival covers music from the Romantic, Late Romantic and Impressionist Periods.
  3. It is a semi-competitive event with 2 judges. All levels and instruments welcome.
  4. Students must dress in appropriate recital attire and stay for the entire recital in which they perform.
  5. Student limit: 12 students per teacher.
  6. Times limits are as follows:
    Elementary: 3 minutes
    Intermediate: 5 minutes
    Advanced: 7 minute
  7. The music must be memorized.
  8. Evaluators must be provided with original copies of the music with the systems numbered. No photocopies are allowed.
  9. Students will receive a mark of Superior, Excellent or Good. Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals will be awarded.
  10. Teacher volunteers are important and appreciated. If you have students participating in the festival, please let the chair know if you can volunteer to help.
