Thank you to our duet co-chairs, Gyuli Kambarova and Ayse Underhill, who put together a wonderful piano duet festival with great performances by all of the students. Our evaluator, Steve Baker, was terrific and everyone had a lovely time.

Fee: $20 per student. Both members of the duet team need to be entered separately and each pay the $20 fee. If a parent or teacher performs with a student, the parent or teacher does not need to pay.

Festival Rules:
- Festival is open to piano students of all ages and levels. Students may choose one piece for four hands for one piano, or music for two pianos no longer than 5 minutes. No repeats, please. Transcriptions or arrangements are permitted. No improvisations will be accepted. Performance by memory is NOT required. Original published music is required for both the judge and for duets that are not played from memory. No photocopies unless properly licensed and approved.
- Teachers need to register both members of the duet team separately and indicate that they are performing together in the duet. (Example: if Amy Smith is performing with Bill Jones, then on Amy’s registration, the duet field will have the name Bill Jones, and on Bill’s registration the duet field will have the name Amy Smith). If the teacher or parent is the duet partner with the student, only the student is registered and the teacher or parent name needs to be listed as the accompanist, not the duet partner.
- The teacher registers and pays online at NSDMTAC.com. Fee is $20 per student and each duet team will be paying a total of $40. If a teacher or parent is performing with a student, only the student has to be registered and paid for.
- Performers should arrive early, dress in appropriate recital attire, and stay for the entire recital. Video recording and photography are allowed during performances.
- This is a non-competitive event. Each student will receive comments from the judge and a trophy.
